Time for an update - this poor little blog has been neglected for some time now! I’ve been hard at work designing for PhotoAffections and Simply to Impress, and finally (after a bit of a hiatus) managed some entries in a few recent design challenges over at Minted. The other project I’m working on is a bit of branding for yours truly! Logo design is not my specialty, but I managed to get started on a concept this morning and wanted to post the preliminary results … obviously some serious fine-tuning is needed (it’s much too busy, the colours aren’t quite right), but I think I like where it’s going so far, at least enough to share with you all and to use on this blog (an imperfect logo is better than no logo at all, right?). I’ll post an update when it’s all done. Happy Thursday!
After months of waiting, Minted’s Holiday Challenge winning designs have been announced. I’m thrilled that two of my designs placed among the top 20 winning designs (16th and 17th, respectively) out of over 2200 submissions, and even more thrilled to see the beautiful company that they are in. Congrats to all! My two winning designs are below:

These designs and several others are for sale on Minted - here.

Two of my notecard designs, including this one (“Growing Hearts”) were just selected as Editor’s picks in a stationery design competition at Minted, and will be available for purchase on their website in the near future :). This was the first competition I had ever entered at Minted, so I’m very happy with the results! (The design above finished in 30th place out of 657 submissions).
Well, here goes :) … I’ve been wanting to set up a personal blog about my life and work for some time now. I’ve been so immersed in designing lately - for our own company, Little Star Greetings, and also for PhotoAffections in the US and for Chapters/Indigo.
For anyone who doesn’t already know or is just starting to follow my work, I launched a photo greeting card and calendar line with Chapters/Indigo in October 2010. The line is being sold currently in two locations (a Chapters in Toronto and an Indigo in Mississauga) as part of a new department of Indigo called Indigo Studio, which also sells frames, photo glass, and many other personalized photo products. The two locations are essentially test/pilot locations for Indigo Studio, with the hope that soon the department will be rolled out in other Chapters and Indigo locations across Canada (yay in advance for when that happens!!!).
A few pics of Indigo Studio taken from last year around the time it launched:

I’m currently working on new designs for Indigo for the 2011 holiday season - will keep you posted!!!
